Outdoor Engagement Shoot Kent

Engagement shoot, Kent

Welcome to my blog posts for ‘Laura Downham Photography’ where I intend on sharing glimpses of my wedding photography and portraits and lots of tips and tricks that I have learnt about the wedding industry! I’m hoping I can give you a good insight as to what I do and a little bit about me!

I am going to start off by sharing an engagement shoot I photographed a little while ago over in Kent. Christina and Rob had booked me as their Wedding Photographer, so an engagement shoot is a perfect way for a couple to feel relaxed and get used to being in front of a camera before their wedding day. It also gives me the chance to find out more about them as a couple.

We met at a quiet area in the Kent countryside with a replica Arc De Triomphe and folly which is where C&R had their first date! It was a perfect setting apart from the brambles and stinging nettles which created a challenge. Once we overcame that hurdle we were able to have a bit of fun! Chrissy and Rob were naturals in front of the camera, sometimes they even knew what poses they wanted to do! We also headed over to Hucking Estate in Kent which had masses of bluebells. You have to get the timing right as bluebell season is around mid April- May. Luckily it was a lovely sunny day and we all very much enjoyed the walk!

I think it’s nice to get to know a couple before their wedding day and equally I think its important that they feel comfortable around myself too. So I was very much looking forward to seeing them again when I would be photographing their wedding day!

Do you like the idea of having an engagement shoot? Pop me a message on my website so we can talk about your ideas and set a date!
